QUESTION #2: How does the Bible define justice?

Answer:

Gary Dull:

“…In the New Testament, the word justice comes from a Greek word that means to promote what is right, but to promote what is right particularly through judicial evaluation that results in a sentence, a punishment, or a reward. Just a little bit of a study on the word from which justice comes from in the New Testament. When you try to study everything that justice is from the Biblical perspective, it really means to have a proper recognition of man’s responsibility to God. When the word means to promote what is right, it’s talking about what right before almighty God. Rendering unto God that which is God’s, and rendering unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s I think it must be taken into consideration.

…If there’s one particular verse that really describes what justice is, it’s found back in the book of Micah, chapter 6, verse 8 where it says, “Ye has showed thee old man, what is good and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God.” True justice, as it relates to doing what is right in reference to God that would lead the sentences or punishment or reward is based upon loving God, showing mercy, and following the truth of almighty God in every aspect of our life.”
