Sam Rohrer:

Hello and welcome to this Thursday edition of Stand In the Gap Today. And it’s also our bimonthly emphasis on the Constitution, US history and current events. My guest again today is of course constitutional attorney, historian, author and public speaker, David New. In today’s program, we’re going to give some comment on a couple of the bigger headline events of the week that directly impact freedom in our nation’s highest civil law, the Constitution. We’ll do that. But in addition with this, we’re going to be sharing some, I’m going to say rather shocking recent poll results that give alarming results of what in particular younger Americans particular say they believe about the government, the Constitution, and something that they indicate they trust more than either one of them. And you’ll stay with us and you’ll find out what that is. I think that we all realize that as Americans, we are woefully ignorant of our constitution.

It’s clear that most Americans have never read the Constitution from beginning to end. And I’m going to say including those in public office where I’ve had them in a room, folks I used to work with say, how many of you who have taken an oath to support defend the Constitution have actually read it? Just a handful. So even then, so if our citizens today haven’t read the Constitution, likely don’t understand much of what they have read, if they’ve read it, then where’s that put us, for example? No, most people are unable to even recall the basic outline of the Constitution and how it is constructed. For instance, such facts such as these, that there are seven articles, for instance within the Constitution Article one, dealing with the powers of Congress, article two about the President and Executive Branch. Article three is about the Supreme Court Judicial Branch.

Article four deals with the States. Article five is how to amend the Constitution, article six, that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land. And finally, article seven deals with requirements to ratify the Constitution. Now are these seven things rather simple? Yeah, they are. But very few people could say what I just did. So the truth is if we want to keep our freedoms, we have to know our constitution. It’s simply impossible to support and defend what we have not read or understand what we have read. And I’m going to say why it was written the way it was. Or when a citizenry is so ignorant of our highest law, there’s a fact that a void is created and into this void, the enemy and deception is invited. That’s the sad reality of our day. And the first poll we’ll share confirms that. Now take two months ago in November by Rasmussen, this poll was the research reveals this finding.

I’ll share it and then I’m going to go to David. But it says this as a part of this Rasmussen poll, 41%, 41% of likely US voters ages 18 to 39. It’s a big group. 41% of them would support a proposal to take power away from most human lawmakers and instead give an advanced AI or artificial intelligence system the authority to control the majority of public policy decisions. I hope that kind of twist your head around a little bit, but that’s hard to believe and we’re going to share more information about that. The title I’ve chosen to frame our conversation on this topic today is this, the latest AI threat, the US Constitution and Freedom in the Crosshairs. And with that, David, thanks for being back today.

David New:

Well blessings to everyone. It’s so nice to be with you

Sam Rohrer:

David, like we’ve done on a couple of previous programs, there’s an issue that you’ve been looking at, frankly, it’s all over the news lead headline news, and it happens to be surrounding, I say the island of Greenland. You have some thoughts on that you would like to share?

David New:

Well, I am very disappointed with the President Trump’s approach to this Greenland issue. His whole approach is a big, big mistake. It is true that Greenland is the highway for ICBMs, intercontinental ballistic missiles to strike the United States. That’s where they’re going to come from is over. They’re going to fly over Greenland to hit us either the Russia or China. They’re going to fly over Greenland. We need Greenland, we need it for our Golden Dome defense because these ICBMs could destroy everything we know about the United States in less than one hour. What President Trump doesn’t understand for some reason is that we already have Greenland, the local population which is so small of 55-60,000 people will let the United States do anything they want to encourage and promote the defense of the United States and the NATO allies. I don’t understand President Trump’s attitude and what I’m frightened is that the real casualty of this fight over Greenland could be Ukraine because the Ukraine has dropped off the radar screen completely. I was glad to see that the President spoke about it yesterday at this Davos thing and he mentioned Ukraine. I was glad to hear that. Basically you don’t hear anything about Ukraine anymore and it’s possible that KGB agent that runs Moscow now may be the biggest winner of the Greenland dispute. If Ukraine falls, Poland could be next.

Sam Rohrer:

Alright, so as you’re saying that Greenland is not really needed as in to take it over, we in fact have a large base at the northern side. So you’re making the point that it’s at least unclear if not confusing. I mean even this morning, leaders of Europe, they’re getting increasingly angry at the United States because of what’s happening there. But you’re also suggesting that in the midst of making people angry, it’s not necessary. And by so doing that, ultimately it leans perhaps towards the biggest winner being Russia. That’s an interesting statement, David.

David New:

Well, China could be a big winner China the way they think they could say. Look, if you claim Greenland, thankfully the president, I voted for Donald Trump on every time his name was on the ballot and I deeply admire him very much. But China would look at something like this and find justification for Taiwan. There’s no question about it. They would use Greenland for that purpose.

Sam Rohrer:

Yep, no doubt. And ladies and gentlemen, that brings us up to a break. That’s just a brief comment about Greenland. I’m telling if you’re following it, there are comments and opinions all over the place regarding what’s going on, but one thing is for sure, it’s part of a big pot of being stirred all over the world. Everything is off balance and that is a part of it. But when we going to come back, we’re going to move into the focus of today’s program and that is a threat, a very real threat to our constitution, to our freedom, and literally by evidence of their polls coming at the hands of artificial intelligence. Well if you’re just joining us, thanks for being on board. David New is my guest again today. This is our bimonthly emphasis on the Constitution and American history. Generally try to work some of that in and then often tie in an event of some type that’s taking place.

And today talking about a threat, a recent, a very clear threat, one that you would not expect frankly to the Constitution. And when you threaten the strength of our constitution, you threaten our freedom. But a recent poll that David’s going to give us more detail on from Rasmussen from just a couple months ago makes it very, very clear. 41% of those in the 28 to 39 age range likely voters are actually not 28. What I say 18, it’s a bigger group, 18 to 39, 18 to 39 age group would actually embrace an AI artificial intelligence brain behind government to determine policy. So anyways, hold that in mind. We’ll go further into detail, but here’s a little bit of background in an era where I got to set this up for why is it even possible that somebody would say, give me something that’s not real and let it make policy for me, but where God’s moral law and God as the highest of all authority, God as creator, God as the great judge of the universe before whom all will give account God as the giver of all human rights made in the image of God.

All of that which was contained so fully developed in our declaration of Independence. But when all of that has been thrown out and trampled, it’s not hard to comprehend that into this void will step authoritarian control the significance of the discarding of truth as being inherent within God’s word and Jesus Christ the embodiment of truth. You just can’t overstate that. The Bible makes it clear in such passages that when truth has been discarded, justice is distorted, law is violated and God’s judgment occurs. Now, for instance, here’s Isaiah 59 14. Let me just quote this. It says this, justice is turned back and righteousness stands far away for truth has fallen in the public squares. King James has fallen in the streets and uprightness cannot enter. And I’m going to say because our constitution and declaration represents the truths of God’s word, when our citizens reject God, they cannot understand or defend our highest civil laws reflected in the Constitution. And when those who are in government have also done the same thing, they cannot make policy or laws with a God consciousness. So a new authority, a new God is emerging. I would submit. And the latest polls, I think confirm it. Alright that David, with my background thoughts on it, take it away and share the fuller details of this survey.

David New:

Yes, this survey is perhaps one of the most important surveys that has come out in the last 10 or 20 years, maybe even longer because it reveals something extremely important that the pollsters weren’t even looking for. Now this survey was done over a period from October 31st to November 2nd of last year. They called 1,496 people between the ages of 18 and 39. If you want to download your copy of this poll again, title is 41% of young voters would give artificial intelligence, government power. 41% of young voters would give artificial intelligence, government power. The error is 95% level of confidence. Now ladies and gentlemen, look at this poll, what it’s telling us where human beings are deferring to a machine and artificial intelligent entity generally before in the last two or three years where AI has come up in a big way was always the subject of science fiction.

There are many movies, there was well with Will Smith with all these robots fighting human beings and things like that. That is the subject of science fiction. And what has been science fiction may not no longer be science fiction. Now technology in the past has always been the servant to the human race. Now the danger is technology could become the master of the human race. There are some people who believe these machines that artificial intelligence can create, could take over the human race. I don’t know, these are people much smarter than I am in this area and I really don’t know. But I do know one thing. This poll reveals a very dark side about the world and about the United States very dark and the pollsters weren’t even looking for it. It reveals the willingness of human beings to accept the mark of the beast.

That’s what this pole is really telling you. The mark of the beast. You look at Revelation 14 and you look at verse nine and you have this thing about the mark of the beast. And the third angel followed them saying with a loud voice, if any man worships the beast and his image and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God. This poll tells us the willingness, the possibility that the human race will accept this mark of the beast. That is what this poll is really telling me in my opinion.

And of course the interpretation of Romans or Revelation 14 is that once you accept the mark of the beast, there’s no going back. There’s no repentance available for you once you receive it. You’ve only got the face judgment from God. Now, we are told in Romans 12, two, a very important verse about what happens when you accept Jesus as your Lord and savior. Now it says in Romans 12, two, and be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed. The Greek word is metamorphs by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God. We undergo a spiritual amorphous when we accept Jesus as our creator. What does that mean? It means we see the world through the blood of the lamb and it means that as we get closer to God, we become more aware of our sin.

People think the sin problem is set aside. The sin problem even becomes more conscious for the Christian, the closer he or she moves towards God because God wants you to know sin is your problem. It is bad and only God can fix it. Revelation 14, nine through 11 has its own kind of metamorphs. Some people believe the reason why human beings cannot come back after receiving this mark, after being receiving this metamorphs that the mark of the beast will put on you is that a human being in some fashion ceases to be solely a human being. But it’s a new kind of creature, a new kind of child of the devil. And by the way, there are many, many kinds of marks of the beast. Our good friend Zohran Mamdani talked about one on his inauguration speech. This is what he said, we will replace the fragility of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism. This is the same thing as what’s being revealed in this poll. It’s all the same way. They may be different streets, but they all end in the same place. It’s a pact with the

Sam Rohrer:

Devil. And David, let me just add in time, let me share this ladies and gentlemen, because yesterday at the World Economic Forum, the moral leader of that group of world, globalist Yuval, Noah Yahara, he said this, let me just quote just a couple things that he said talking about ai, he said, it is important to learn what AI is. It is not just another tool, it is an agent. It can learn and change by itself and make decisions by itself. A knife is a tool. You can use a knife to cut salad or to murder someone, but it is your decision what to do with the knife. AI is a knife that can decide by itself whether to make salad or to murder. He goes on to say, some people argue that AI is just glorified auto speech. It barely predicts the next words in a sentence, but he said, but that’s not so much different from what the human mind does as far as putting words in order.

AI already thinks better than most of us. Therefore anything made of words that this will be taken over by ai. If laws are made of words, then AI will take over the legal system. If books are just combinations of words, then AI will take over books. If religion is built from words, then AI will take over religion. And this is particularly true of religions made up of books like Islam, Judaism and Christianity. He’s saying very clearly, AI is way ahead of all of us and AI is going and will bring a new religion. Think of that. Well, going further into our, I want to say attack on the constitution and freedom. David shared the poll in the last segment and I shared some of the comments by Yuval Noah Harari, who is kind of like the moral philosopher. He’s the thought entity within this economic gathering of the economic forum where the president was yesterday.

There about 3000 people there. I think about 400 heads of state and the others are billionaire types. The one thing that they all share as a part of that group is running the world. And they have made it clear and they think that they are the best ones, the smartest ones able to do that. And they have been calling the shots and telling everyone what they want to do and going all the way back to before COVID. So this is a big deal. And now his statement about AI having gone way beyond what anybody imagined just some years ago, even four years ago, he used it in his commentary and pretty remarkable saying that anything that’s made up of words he’s saying will be taken over by AI is already being taken over and AI having the capacity to make decisions. And he talked further and I didn’t quote that, but he talks further about the idea about AI actually becoming possessing certain human qualities such as I think therefore I am.

Well he’s saying AI is thinking in its thinking for itself and it’s making determinations. And anyway, so you get the idea. But as it relates to the constitution, he’s making a point, if anything is made up of words, it will surpass what that is. So that pertains completely to anything legal or authoritative or, and that’s why he said ultimately it will become more than bigger than more knowledgeable than any entity of the world’s religion. So if the Bible’s made up of words, AI will become in essence God. It is bizarre where we are now, that being case, the Bible has much to say about authority and that’s really what we’re talking about. Who’s in charge In Romans 13, one, it states clearly that all authority, the very concept of authority and power and responsibility and accountability starts with God as creator. Not only do we learn in that passage and elsewhere in scripture that God has ranked or ordered in priority the jurisdictions of authority.

And that every person must understand their role within God’s ordering. And when they step outside of that God designed role, they become proud and lawless and those under their authority will suffer and ultimately be judged by God himself. Now here’s specifically what Romans 13, one says. Don’t have time to get into all of it, but you get the idea. It says, let every person be in subjection to the higher a authorities for there is no authority except from God. And those which exist have been ordained or instituted by God. Alright? Now in reality what that means, that means individuals, they’re an authority. Parents, they’re a higher authority. Civil leaders, political leaders, they are an authority. Religious leaders, all of them as institutions of authority that God’s created, all of them are ranked by God. And according to God’s plan, they are to operate within their jurisdiction and civil government, Romans 13, uses the sword of government.

God’s given that jurisdiction the sword not to do its own will, but to do God’s will, which is to do two things, protect the jurisdictions of the other authorities so that parents can do what parents do. Employers can do what employers need to do, that religious leaders can operate within the religious jurisdiction as they would seek to do freedom of religion. And when that is done, then trust will result and God will bless. But when any one of them resist God’s plan, lawlessness, injustice and corruption will increase distrust within the system and the people will occur and such as our day. Now, I needed to say that to set it up for why it is that you can have so many people say, well, I can actually embrace AI becoming government to determiners of policy. But there’s more survey results than that. David, share the latest surveys and what you found that confirm frankly the increase of distrust in government by people and what that means.

David New:

Yes, there was a poll taken by the John Hopkins University in November of last year, 2025. The title of the poll is Understanding Evolving Republican Attitudes towards Democracy, understanding, evolving Republican Attitudes towards Democracy. Now, when this poll uses the word democracy, it means in the modern sense, not at the time of the Constitution. At the time of the Constitution, the framers were definitely against democracy. They did not like it and they wanted a republic. And our constitution point blank says it’s a republic, but the word democracy has evolved in the last 200 years to include the features of a republic. And here’s what they’re finding in their poll, and it’s a very disturbing one. It says across all party lines, Americans express concerns about US democracy. 84% say democracy is either in crisis or is facing a serious challenge. Only 11% say it is doing well. Now how do you fix that?

What’s the solution? Well, it’s rather interesting the solution. Americans today see absolutely no relationship between democracy and Christianity. None whatsoever. They do not believe one has to do with the other. They’re completely separate. That’s one of the poison pills of the separation of church and state. They don’t see democracy and Christianity any relation at all. Now, before the 1950s and the 1960s, Americans had a very different view, a very radically different view. They believed that Christianity was the essential ingredient in democracy. For it to work, democracy has to have a moral foundation. What does that mean? Why does democracy require a moral foundation? Because it requires a willingness of people who vote to accept the loss of an election. The loser must accept the loss of that election, and that requires morality. So what is the moral foundation for democracy or Republican government in the United States?

It is now, and it always has been the golden rule of Matthew seven 12, the separation of church and state, which I believe in, but not the way it’s defined by the ACL U. But one thing about the separation of church and state, there’s a very thin wall. This wall of separation of church and state is a very thin wall between politics and religion. For political republicanism to work there has got to be the golden rule. Now, who said that? Who teaches that? Well, let’s take a look. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, when he ran for his third term in November of 1940, this is what he talked about because at this time the Nazis were coming to power. The imperial Japanese were coming into power. And this is what he said.

Those forces hate democracy and Christianity as two faces of the same civilization. They oppose democracy because it is Christian. They oppose Christianity because it preaches democracy. That is FDR in Brooklyn, 1940, just about to be reelected for his third term. The Supreme Court of Florida 1950 gave the very best description of how democracy works in the United States. Different species of democracy have existed for more than 2000 years, but democracy as we know it has never existed among the unchurched, a people unschooled about the sovereignty of God, the 10 Commandments and the ethics of Jesus could never have evolved the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. There is not one solitary fundamental principle of our democratic policy that did not stem directly from the basic moral concepts as embodied in the decalogue and the ethics of Jesus. No one knew this better than the founding fathers.

Sam Rohrer:

And David, that really makes it so clear, ladies and gentlemen, to just think when you have such a large number, 18 to 30 nines, 41% say they are willing to set aside people making policy for artificial intelligence, which as we know is well actually it’s designed as if it was God. It really truly is. And that’s what Harra talked about. What is taking place? Well, this is the threat to the constitution, to freedom because it’s a threat fundamentally to the truth that undergirds God’s word. Now when we come back, we’ll try and say, how do we respond to these deteriorating levels of trust?

Well, David, as we go into our final segment here, there are so many things that could be said. There was some additional research as well that we didn’t get into. And I don’t know if you can mention just a little bit of that because the level of trust that we referred to in the last segment that citizens must have in their leaders as congregants must have in their pastors as children, must have in their parents, all of that is a part of what God’s plan was set up. And that’s why the whole calling out of authority, the ranking of authority where we all answer to God, we all will give an account to God is what keeps everything in order. But when that order is thrown off, God is thrown out, truth is thrown in the street, then everything continues, everything falls apart, trust disappears.

But people in their heart want to trust somebody. Enter now deception and ai. So let’s just with that as a basis, the Constitution, we know we’ve stated it, it really no longer guides our nation. It’s there in reality, but not in reality. It’s not. It’s there in symbolism, it’s not in reality. It just simply is not the standard that directs or limits presidential or congressional or frankly, even when it comes to decisions and policies, that’s not where they go. That is not the defining thing. It’s not a mention of anything that’s taking place today. It’s also clear that God’s word, God’s definition of moral law is not the standard that limits or guides presidential or congressional or judicial decisions and policies. In fact, another poll, George Barna Paul said it on our program here, recently done that nearly 97% do not believe that the Bible is authoritative.

97% of those in America who say they are Christians do not believe that the Bible is all true. Alright, so therein is the basis for why deception can commend to it. So let’s type and resolve this. David, from your perspective, how do you think our people and our leaders should respond to these current conditions we’ve described where faith in God is clearly no longer the guiding action and the trust that people have in government and leaders generally has so nearly disappeared that AI not real, an entity that is there as actually being considered a more trustworthy replacement. This is an incredible thing.

David New:

Yes, it absolutely is. Ladies and gentlemen. Government is an institution established by God. If you look at Genesis, the nine chapter and the first six verses, you have government being established by God after Noah’s flood. You see that statement in Genesis nine, six, whosoever sheddeth man’s blood by man, government shall his blood be shed for in the image of God made he man. Now this section here, this Genesis nine, one through six, in Judaism, this is taught or considered the Noahide laws. The Noahic laws. They believe these are the laws that are binding upon all Gentiles throughout the world. For all the time the Torah was given to the Jewish people, but these no high laws. Now, that’s how they interpreted, okay? That’s their view. Now, look, one of the things the devil does, he uses principle strategies to corrupt God’s plan. One of them is sex.

People committing sexual sin, people not having relationships with people who they’re not married to and all kinds of things. That’s only one avenue. But one of the most powerful, bloody, wicked strategies of Satan is government because it’s instituted by God, it’s instituted by God. And Satan wants the world to follow his government. That’s why he’s called the God of this world. Now, the only thing, we have another pole that was issued in December of last year and is called Public Trust in government, 1958 to 2025. It was issued by the Pew Research Center as called public trusted government, 19 58, 20 25. And in 19 58, 70 3% of Americans trusted the federal government to do the right thing, almost always, or most of the time. Now, let’s move forward. Here’s the bad news. 2007, the shares saying they can trust the government always, or most of the time has never been higher than 30% since 2007. The trust and the federal government has plunged.

This means that the Constitution is in trouble. The only way the Constitution can be saved, the Bill of Rights and the American way of life is for America to get baptized again in the Word of God. If that doesn’t happen, if we don’t listen to Charlie Kirk and all the great teachers of God who have talked about these things, we are not going to succeed. We must be active. Please, ladies and gentlemen, vote every election, write articles for the local newspaper why you believe America is a Christian nation. Even if you don’t really believe that, but you believe it has a moral foundation which is based in Christianity, but be active. Anything you do, God will bless you that will stay with you as a dividend for all eternity.

Sam Rohrer:

Okay, and David, that is good recommendation and ladies and gentlemen we’re just about at the end, as I’ve often said, when God gave the requirements to his nation of Israel, which was the standard, God established Israel through whom we know the Messiah would come, but he also established Israel to be a light to the nations, a light of what? Well, a light to point them to God, their creator, Yahweh, that laid out a plan for mankind and obviously included redemption, the primary part, but all the way through they were to be light. They didn’t do that, but God told them, and our founders copied what God said to Israel and said, we to the best of our ability, want the blessings that God gave to Israel to be ours. And God said this fear, God fear me. In other words, I am truth. You come to me as the highest authority, and secondly, obey my commands.

Do what I have said. And God said, when you do that, then my blessings will be pouring out. So many you will not be able to handle it. Our founders did that. America became the recipient of blessings, even in some degree far more than even Israel had way back. But then God said, if you walk away from me and you don’t fear me, and you think that all the blessings that you have come from your hand, you become proud and arrogant, and that you think greatness comes from your hand or some policy or party or person, then I’m going to turn all those upside down and you’ll receive my judgment so significantly that you’ll not be able to outrun that. That’s God’s plan. No one has ever been able to successfully improve upon it. We must submit to it. So it is, that’s where it is, David. So going back to God, being immersed in the Word of God, fearing God and keeping His commandments, obeying him, ladies and gentlemen, that is the key. We need to do it and make sure that in our own hearts we have done it, and then let our light shine to those around us. Thank you for being with us, David. Wonderful program. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for being with us today. Lord willing, we’ll see you back here tomorrow.
