Sam Rohrer: Hello and welcome to this Wednesday edition of Stand In the Gap Today, and it’s also our bimonthly Israel prophecy and Middle East focus. The program guest today is recurring guest, Dr. Carl Broggi, senior pastor of Community Bible Church in Beaufort, South Carolina since 1990 or so, whatever. I don’t know why I have that in there. A long time you’ve been there, Carl. But as everyone listening to me right now, knows and is well aware since the October 7th attack by Hamas against Israeli citizens, nearly every nation in the world, including sadly our own America, have officially as almost in Covid lockstep mantra come out against Israel and their right to protect themselves. The shameless display of antisemitism is nothing short of a demonically led to demonstration of evil hatred reminiscent my opinion of the days of Hitler and demonically fueled strategies of nazim. But lest anyone think that what we are seeing is a random or spontaneous display of some new hatred for Israel or the Jews, let me assure you that this rise of hatred is anything but new.
Sam Rohrer: It is historically old, and I’m going to say also prophetically foretold for every true believer with eyes to see and ears to hear. It is critical that we understand that we are seeing unfold and develop what history discloses and what the Bible says is both happening and what will yet happen. Sole chosen, chosen to frame our consideration of this remarkable phenomenon is this the demonic resurgence of antisemitism prophetically explained. Now, in this first segment, our goal is to define antisemitism and describe its historical roots. Segment two will consider antisemitism from a prophetical perspective. Segment three will explain the demonic resurgence of antisemitism and Satan’s role for a long time. And we’ll conclude in segment four with what the believer’s response should be in this rise of demonically fueled antisemitism. And with that roadmap before us, I want to welcome in right now to the program Dr. Carl Broggi. Carl, thank you for being back.
Carl Broggi: It’s a pleasure. And these are interesting days we’re living in Sam.
Sam Rohrer: It surely is. And that’s a great thing about the word of God is it brings clarity to the confusing and this is one that we need to do that. So Carl, in short, lemme just ask you this to get us started. Why is it so important for believers? I’m going to say believers in the true church of Jesus Christ. I know there’s a lot of false ones out there, but the true believers who have their eyes open, why is it important to be fully aware of and be able to describe and understand what’s going on now in this general rise of this global hatred toward Israel and the Jews?
Carl Broggi: Well, God reminds that we have a blessed hope and it’s a hope that is sure and certain and that gives us a sense of security. But if people cannot put things together prophetically, it looks like the world’s falling apart when in reality it’s actually coming together. And if we don’t understand God’s prophetic schedule, it’s easy to get confused. But if we see it, it should do many things to us. One, were to focus on his return and we know that we’ll see him someday, we’ll be like him. And John reminds us that when we have this hope set on him where purified as he’s pure, because there’s a convergence of events that are taking place, not just with Israel but with the moral climate of the world. Again, we just saw a mainline denomination this week reject God’s view of marriage and these things are piling up.
Carl Broggi: And as God’s people, we need to be on our heel, on our toes and alert to what’s happening. And two, when we really understand it, Sam, it takes the fear out of it. Jesus in the all of it discourse reminds us there’ll be wars and rumors of wars. But then he says, don’t be frightened. See that you’re not frightened because these things have to take place. And so when we understand that it relieves us from the fear factor, it certainly motivates us to do what we’re supposed to be doing. And that’s winning people to Christ because after the church is raptured, people who’ve heard the gospel prior to the rapture and clarity and power will not be able to be saved. God will send on them a judgment, a diluting influence that they’ll believe what’s false. So these are important days and we need to be in focus.
Sam Rohrer: Absolutely. Okay, that’s great. Let’s write now specifically now to definition. We’re referred to antisemitism, people are hearing it, it’s out there everywhere. But let’s get us on the same page. Would you define antisemitism? I’m going to say in its purest form.
Carl Broggi: Well, the name semi comes from actually the Hebrew word shem, which was one of Noah’s three sons, the oldest of the three. And of course the Bible reminds us that in the great flood everyone was drowned except eight people including Shem, Ham and Japheth and their three wives. And when you go to the table of nations in Genesis 10, we learned that Shem is the progenitor that brings Abraham. And Abraham brings Isaac, Jacob, 12 sons, the 12 tribes of the nation of Israel. And of course Jacob’s name is changed to Israel. And so the Semites in essence are the Israelites. And so antisemitism is basically to be against the Jews. And the truth is is that the world hates the Jews. They have seemingly always hated the Jews and the reason they hate the Jews because they hate God and the world that is against God will hate those things that God is for.
Carl Broggi: And Satan of course is behind. This is the God small g of this world who’s energizing the sons of disobedience. And so all the way back in Genesis, God gave a promise. He said, I’ll bless those who bless you. I curse those who curse you and in you, all the families of the world will be blessed. And so Moses reminds us that God chose Israel. He had to choose some nation in which to bring the Messiah. I suppose if he had chose the Italians or the Irish or some other ethnicity, then the world would be against them. But God formed a new nation to define clearly how we could understand who the Messiah would be. And Satan hated that because he knows the Messiah ultimately leads to his destruction. So he has a plan that he’s at work getting people to oppose the Jewish people and against Israel. So it simply said, antisemitism is a hatred of the Jewish people in the nation of Israel.
Sam Rohrer: Alright, now don’t have much time left here, but just establish by whatever reference you would want to. But this current rise globally that we see happening against the Jewish people in Israel, there have been efforts to purge Jews before historically. Are there precedents for what we’re seeing now?
Carl Broggi: Certainly when Satan hears the proto evangelian that someday his head is going to be crushed, his concern is how is that going to happen? And God reveals it’s going to happen through a Jewish Messiah. And so he tries to wipe out the Jews throughout history. He tries to do it during the time of the Babylonian exile through the Persians, the Assyrians, the Egyptians, the Hitite, the Nazis, every time he fails. But the Bible is clear that because of an unconditional promise God made to Abraham that God’s not done with Israel in Romans 1126 tells us a day when Israel will look in faith and those who are alive will confess that Yeshua, Jesus is indeed the Messiah. But for that to happen, Israel has to exist. And so Satan is trying to stop that. He’s trying to stop the existence to thwart Israel’s plan and there’s a reason why he’s seemingly so stupid. But maybe we can discuss that in
Sam Rohrer: And Carl, we absolutely will. Ladies and gentlemen, stay with us. Our theme today is the demonic resurgence of antisemitism, prophetically explained when you come back right after this break, we’re going to get into those aspects of prophetical considerations and help to understand again what is happening and why If you’re just joining us today, our theme is the demonic resurgence of Antisemitism, prophetically Explained, and my special guest, recurring guest, Dr. Carl Broggi, senior pastor of Community Bible Church in Beaufort, South Carolina. He’s the host of his own radio program. Search the scriptures with a website@searchthescriptures.org. Alright, well when it comes to antisemitism and the hatred of Israel and the Jewish people, our theme here today, it’s critical to understand that the hatred has been longstanding and it can only be understood spiritually, which means biblically and prophetically. Now as I shared on Monday’s program just a couple days ago, there are two ways of looking at life, not just our personal lives within our short human lifespan of 70 years or so, but human civilization as it has now traversed nearly 6,000 years since creation.
Sam Rohrer: One way is to look at it from a pure human perspective and to consider that the rise and fall of nations and civilizations come and go and happen by the strategies and the whims of human leaders. And in part that’s true, but from a biblical worldview perspective, life and human civilization exists only within God’s greater plan of redemption, which began at creation and will be ultimately consummated in approximately another thousand years with a new creation in a new heaven and a new earth. And within this continuum of time, earthly leaders and kingdoms rise and fall with human strategies for control, driven by greed and the lust for power. The Bible tells us though in Psalm two, that the leaders of the earth, the world’s political and business leaders driven by rebellion against the truth, will strategize and conspire together against God himself and against his anointed being Yeshua, Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, including the nation of Israel and God’s chosen people, the Jews referred to as his anointed, and of course Christians in the true church as God’s anointed the very bright of Christ, the analysis of what these various leaders and nations are doing in their plans to oppose God and thereby Israel and true Christianity I submit as what we’re witnessing today, coming together in an astounding convergence of events as all eyes increasingly focus on the Middle East and Israel.
Sam Rohrer: Alright, Carl, I just gave my brief overview of what I think we’re witnessing on unfold in regard to the rise of antisemitism. But here if you could, could you now go further and identify other biblical prophecies that speak specifically to this current rise of hatred that we see today and what makes these days so unique and remarkable?
Carl Broggi: Well, Sam, I think it’s clear that God is setting the stage for what we see happening today and what is going to happen in the future. And really if you think about it, the majority of biblical prophecy is set in advance. There are some things that just happen in a moment’s time, especially short range prophecies, but most long range prophecies take time to set up. And I think as we get closer to the rapture in the second coming, we can’t be ignorant of what is happening. I really believe we’re in the threshold of the rapture of the church, which of course is followed by the second coming. But think about how prophecy has been fulfilled in the past. Historically common events typically cast their shadows ahead of the event before it happens. And so take the crucifixion, for instance, king David, he writes Psalm 22 in that trilogy of Psalms and he writes, in 2216, they pierce my hands and my feet.
Carl Broggi: I preached an Easter sermon on that one year. That’s a prophecy written a thousand years before Jesus comes as to how the Messiah will die. Isaiah 700 years before Jesus comes, says he’ll be pierced through for our transgressions. Zechariah 500 years before Jesus comes, says they’ll look on me whom they have pierced in John 1937 tells us they did that on the day Jesus died and John says it was fulfilled on that day. Now what’s significant is that crucifixion had not yet been invented when David, who is also a prophet and a king writes when Isaiah writes, when Zechariah writes, it’s not invented until the Persian empire and it’s really perfected as a means of capital punishment under the Romans. So God had to set the stage for that prophecy to take place. Well I think of Zechariah chapter 12 and I’ve just flipped over there.
Carl Broggi: He writes in the third verse, it will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples in all who lift. It will be severely injured and all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. Then in the next page in chapter 14, he says in verse two, I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle. This is a reference to the battle of Armageddon and the sea will be captured in the house, plundered and so forth, and the women ravished and half the city exiled in. And then a few verses later, he’ll say in that same day, his feet massage feet will stand in the mount of olives and he’ll split it in two. So for these prophecies to happen, the stage has to be set During the time of the Holocaust, it was a wicked time in human history, but Germany and only about a dozen nations of the world and half of those dozen were complicit like the United States.
Carl Broggi: We weren’t against Israel, but neither did we fight for them in a very holistic way. And so in the Ms St. Louis came to the coast of Miami and they wouldn’t let the passengers disembark, they could see the lights of the city, but they were sent back and they all met the gas chambers. Well what’s different from the thirties and forties is now we have all the nations of the world going against Israel. We’ve seen of course in recent days protests in major cities across the planet in our own country, college campuses across the whole US who are going against Israel. And a lot of these kids don’t seemingly know what they’re doing, but there’s a satanic force behind it. And then yesterday for the first time high schools began and who knows where that’s going to go in the next month or so before high schools are let out. And so for all the nations of the world to go against Israel, there’s a stage that is now being set such that when the church is removed and the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy begins, evil is going to unfold Israel. And that’s why they’ll go after this one world leader known as the antichrist to protect them.
Sam Rohrer: Alright, that’s excellent. And ladies and gentlemen, we may touch on a little bit later, but a lot of things are being set right now. Israel is getting tired of war. They’re going to at some point look forward to a peace treaty by somebody who’s going to bring it forth. There’s just a lot of things, as Carl said, has to happen and is in preparation stage. So just remember that things are occurring broadly in many different ways all around the world. That’s the way God works. That’s what the prophecies are there. And it tells us, Carl, lemme go here and ask you this because in the rise of antisemitism you obviously have those evil God hating Christ rejecting leaders of the world like the Psalms two people. But I’m concerned that there’s a component of the church and we’ve talked about it before, who hold to a theological underpinning which at least keeps their mouths quiet and not necessarily makes them antisemites. But there are people who believe that God has walked away from Israel altogether, its replacement theology. Would you speak to that? Whether or not you think that either ties indirectly or perhaps indirectly with this rise of antisemitism?
Carl Broggi: Well, both directly in indirectly, I have no doubt that there were some Christian men who loved the Lord who were grossly misinformed because of the way they were taught to interpret scripture. And yet we just read some prophecies in Zechariah that will someday be literally fulfilled and that’s how we should expect all the prophecies for the return of Christ to be fulfilled. Because every prophecy, even in Zechariah, he’ll be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. He’ll enter Jerusalem on a donkey, the shepherd will be struck and the apostles will flee, he’ll be pierced through for our iniquity. And so Dr. Ryrie used to tell us at Dallas Seminary that what we need is a historical grammatical, literal, then he added the word consistent means or hermeneutic of interpreting the Bible. And so to be consistent, we need to literally interpret the Bible. And so during the time of UUs, he lives around 300 or so.
Carl Broggi: He said, no, the promises that God gave to Israel are now curses. He accused the Jews of Dei when in reality we’re all in the crucifixion according to the Bible. John Christo basically said the same thing. He said, the Jews are murderers possessed by the devil. Augustine, you go into Yad, one of the very first little alcoves and you see statements about him. I recently had this CEO of friends of Israel at our church. He’s an Orthodox Jew speaking and updating us on what’s happening in Israel. And he brought up immediately Augustine and I said, I agree with you. Augustine had a warped view of the Bible and of the Jewish people and he actually took a deep breath like I was glad to hear this, that you actually agree with what we think. Then you have the popes like Gregory around 1200. He said awful things, pious the fifth and the 15 hundreds.
Carl Broggi: He said wicked things. And then you’ve got the reformers, you got Martin Luther who said horrible things. Martin Luther was quoted by Hitler. He went into the Lutheran churches during the war and he just read what Lutheran said about the Jews in his own little booklet and he used that to get the German people behind him. Calvin, he said, the Jews are rotten and unbending, stiff neck people who deserve to be oppressed and to be shown no pity. More recently in the forties, pious the 12th, he actually gave money to the Nazi party and then replacement theology was further affirmed at the second Vatican Council. You’ve got these in the So-called reformed faith today that affirm replacement theology that God’s done with Israel, that the church has replaced Israel. That’s dangerous theology and it is spreading an anti-Semitic spirit because it’s shutting down the light that we’re supposed to be shining,
Sam Rohrer: Ladies and gentlemen. So understand what is happening now is a combination of a lot of factors. Be very careful, understand what is going on. Most important, understand what the Bible says and respond to that. When we come back, we’re going to talk about Antisemitism’s demonic resurgence. We’re going to explain that in Satan’s goal from the beginning. Well since creation, when the triune God, our God above created the earth and all that we see and placed man made in his image on this earth and tasked him to oversee God’s creation, he also tasked man to multiply. He created imperfection. All that we see created man to walk in daily fellowship and worship with God. But Satan desiring God’s glory and the worship of mankind has set about to disrupt God’s plan. Thus sin entered the world at the fall we call it, with the temptation of eve and the voluntary sin of Adam and that action of human rebellion.
Sam Rohrer: Well it brought forth sin and death. Thus in the mind of Satan, he had foiled God’s perfect plan. Well here’s now 6,000 years later, the battles in the heavenlys rage on the fight over the souls of men seems to only increase. This is the essence though of God’s plan of redemption, the souls of men. And while much of God’s plan has been fulfilled, as Carl referred earlier in the program, a lot has been fulfilled first coming and all that went before there is much yet to occur. And it’s into this time of history where we now live just an amazing time witnessing the alignment of nations. Just as the Bible says, the rise of global government, just as the Bible says, and this demonic rise of antisemitism all converging together makes these days critical and so important for us to understand what is going on. So Carl, let’s go back into this. Let’s start with a basic question that may be obvious but maybe it’s not so obvious. And that is why does Satan so hate the Jews that he has precipitated so many different events that you historically cited in a previous section?
Carl Broggi: Well, if there is one passage that I am really moved by through would be Revelation chapter 12, because it gives us kind of a behind the scenes view of what has happened a few thousand years ago and what is going to happen in the future. The apostle Paul tells the Corinthians, he said, see to it that no advantage be taken of us by Satan for we are not ignorant of his schemes. And so a scheme is a strategy. And sadly, I think a lot of the body of Christ today due to replacement theology reform, theologies, it’s often packaged, is unaware of the schemes that are happening, what Satan is actually doing. But when you come here to Revelation 12, where I’ve turned in my Bible, there are two strategies that Satan tried to use to stop God’s plan. Now somebody might think, well, how smart is it is to try to stop God?
Carl Broggi: But it’s really not a matter of intelligence, it’s not a matter of logic. The scripture says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge in Proverbs one and then I think it’s in chapter nine, he says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. And so our minds only work and function properly when they’re in submission to our God who made that mind. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s the human mind or an angelic mind because angels also have the capacity to think. In fact, God says in the fall of Satan there are two central passages. 14 times two is 28, Isaiah 14, Ezekiel 28, and he says in Eel 28, you speaking of Satan corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. So Satan’s intellect, it’s not logic based, it’s power based. The thing with deceivers is that they’re often deceived.
Carl Broggi: And so when you come to Revelation one, it says in his tale, speaking of Satan swept away a third of the stars of heaven, these the third of the angels he brought down with him and threw them to the earth. And the dragon who’s described and defined as Satan in the passage stood before the woman who he just pictured as the nation of Israel who is about to give birth so that she gave birth that he might devour the child. And so Satan wanted to stop the birth of Jesus Christ. He did it through Pharaoh when he tried to have all the Jewish boys killed. He did it through Haman who wanted to wipe out the nation. And then he tried to do it through Herod there in Bethlehem. And so in Matthew two, you get the human perspective of what’s happening in Revelation 12.
Carl Broggi: You get it from a different angle, you get it from the angelic heavenly perspective and you learn that Satan was actually using Herod anti’s insecurity or Herod the greats insecurity over his own throne to prevent the birth of the Lord Jesus. And he’s worked overtime, he failed in round one. So what’s left round two, round two is to stop, not now the birth of the Messiah. He failed at that, but the plan of the Messiah. And so right before this in Revelation 12, the seventh trumpet is blown and he announced the kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our God and our Christ. And so Satan is trying to stop the birth of the kingdom and the kingdom promises are related to the Jewish people. Abraham for instance, has promised a piece of land, and yet in Acts seven when Stephen recounts Abraham’s life, he said he didn’t get the first square inch of it.
Carl Broggi: Oh, is God a liar? No, God’s going to keep his promise in the future. And so the Jewish people gave us the Bible, they gave us a savior. And when he returns Satan is going to try to stop this coming kingdom. And his intellect is so corrupted, he thinks somehow he can pull it off, but he will not be able to do it because the Lord will reign victoriously as king of kings and Lord of lords. So it’s a hatred for God, it’s a hatred for the Jewish people because he knows ultimately when the Messiah comes and rules and reigns, if you don’t have the Jews, he can’t do it because it’s a promised kingdom first to the Jewish people. So he wants to destroy them. And when he rules and reigns, he’s bound for a thousand years and a short time after the end of the thousand years, he’s thrown in the like of fire forever. So somehow in his corrupted wisdom, he thinks that he can put a stop to it and that’s what he’s studying the stage for right now in America and across the world to do
Sam Rohrer: So right now as you are describing, Satan and his minions are involved in acts of great deception, which the Lord Jesus tells us about Matthew 24. Don’t be deceived. So you have a lot of these things that are happening, some of ’em theological issues that tell us not to focus on Israel as an example we’ve talked about or moving in the hearts of Hamas and the other enemies of Israel, all of these things that you’re talking about, and we’ve referred all of the United Nations, all of the countries condemning Israel, all of these things would in fact be efforts and strategies, schemes of the devil to prepare the way for what we know would be the coming of the antichrist. Correct?
Carl Broggi: That’s exactly right. And so Satan, he wants to destroy Israel, his man, he’s the closest thing to Christ, who is God incarnate. The closest thing to Satan incarnate will be the son of perdition. The term is used of both Judas who’s literally possessed by the devil and it’s used in Second Thessalonians two of the coming world leader. And so that’s going to be his strategy to use this world leader. And of course in the middle of the great tribulation, when the world leader portrays Israel, Satan goes into full force into a full fight. He’s thrown down to the earth with a third of the fallen evil demons with him and they do everything in their power to destroy Israel. And will it not be for God’s supernatural protection where he’ll protect them? Probably in a place we call Petra. Though I wouldn’t be dogmatic on that, but it appears to be the spot.
Carl Broggi: There would be no Jews left for the Messiah to come. In fact, Jesus said, unless those days have been cut short and the tribulation had stopped, there would be no one alive. And so that’s Satan’s goal. He thinks he can pull this off and he hates the Jews. They gave us the Bible. Every book in the Bible is written by a Jewish man. He hates the Jews because he hates the word of God. He hates the Savior who delivered us from his domain, from his kingdom of darkness and brings us into the kingdom of light. And he hates the coming return of the Messiah. That will happen through the Jewish people. God used Israel to bring the first coming. He’ll use Israel to bring the second coming and if he can stop it, he’ll do his best to try.
Sam Rohrer: So in simple terms, he does everything he can right now to undo God’s promises to Israel. The two state solution as it would be, I think is an effort of that type, kill as many Jews as you can, Hamas, that would be certainly a part. But ultimately at the end as we’ve talked about before, Carl, the return of Christ comes and is precipitated by that third of the Jews who are left who ultimately call out and say blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord When they recognize Yeshua as the Messiah is then what triggers if he can prevent that event, he thinks he probably can prevent the second coming of Christ. Is that true?
Carl Broggi: That’s exactly true, Sam. And again, this is why replacement theologies in such error because Jesus said, behold your house, speaking of the temple is being left to you desolate. He’s speaking of the destruction of the temple. And he’ll elaborate on that in the next chapter. And here at the end of 23, I say to you from now on, you will not see me until you, until you the nation of Israel say Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. The second coming of Jesus is predicated on the Jewish people coming to faith in Zechariah 1210 says that they’re going to mourn for him. It is coming. Their hearts will be broken, that they had rejected the Messiah when they see him visibly come in the skies. And they will realize of course before that, that he’s Lord, that’s not the time of their conversion. But that’s the time of brokenheartedness is one mourns for an only son. But the Jewish people will confess Yeshua is indeed Lord. That’s the promise. And so to say that church has replaced is done with the Jewish
Sam Rohrer: And with that car, we’re going to break. Ladies and gentlemen. I’ll just have to tell you what you’re hearing are some internet problems in the state of South Carolina, which is where Carl is connected live to. He told us ahead of time that we may have a problem, hopefully he will be connected with us and we can complete as planned this second quarter stay with us or this last segment. But stay with us as we come back in just a moment and look at this question. And that is in light of all of these things that we’ve talked about, which is so much antisemitism and all that’s unfolding, what should be the believers response? As I mentioned in the last segment, and we do regularly on these programs, we try to take a thought like we have today, antisemitism, the demonic resurgence of antisemitism prophetically explain that’s what we’re doing and introduce the idea, define terms.
Sam Rohrer: That’s generally our approach. Give some background, some cause of why we are and what’s brought us to the point of the problem and problem cause solution. We tend to follow that because it’s a logical approach to help identify issues and bring to them a resolve. Now at the end of it, which we try to do here is to present a solution and a solution. Is that right? If we just present the issues and we don’t resolve it, we’ve not done our job. The word of God tells us about problems, sin, death, the penalty. But if it didn’t give us the hope of eternal life, what good would that be? It gives us a solution. That solution is in the spiritual sense. It’s Jesus Christ, faith in Jesus Christ alone, God’s plan of redemption. Now that’s the big picture, but that’s how it works. So in this segment right now, Carl and I going to try and move this discussion today to the point of saying, all right, now what difference does all this make?
Sam Rohrer: How should we then act? This is clear from scripture. Both old and new testaments reflect an ultimate conflict. We’ve described that in many different ways between God and His anointed. Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, God’s anointed. We know that. But his chosen people, the Jews and true Christians are also part of God’s anointed. And with that group, Jesus Christ, the Jews, true Christians, and I’m going to say the angelic heavenly host that’s on one side. On the other side, there’s Satan and his demonic fallen angels. I referred to one third of all heaven, and I’m going to put into that all deceived human beings who have come to understand the truth but rejected it, of which the majority we know from scripture of all human beings ever born will be in that category because it’s a broad way to destruction. It’s a narrow way. And few there be that, find it to life eternal through Jesus Christ.
Sam Rohrer: So this is what it is. So those are the two sides. That is the battle. The conflict is what the Bible tells us about, but it directs us as well how to fight this battle, which is not flesh and blood alone. There are battles in the battlefield. We see that happening Middle East, but the ultimate battle is a spiritual battle tells us what to expect in the literal and the spiritual battles ahead, and therefore how we should prepare our hearts and our minds and how to live in these incredible days. So with that backdrop in place, Carl, as we’ve set on this program many times in the past, and you’ve said so clearly, God gives us prophecy, a glimpse into what’s ahead, not to scare us, but to prepare us. And along the way, testing ladies and gentlemen comes into the life of all believers. We all are tested. Persecution will increase. The Bible tells that. But even then, during those times, we are to what Trust the Lord, knowing that even in the testing of our faith, God does not permit it to break us, but to make us. So with that being said, Carl, here’s an open-ended question for you. In light of the rise in antisemitism and frankly Christian persecution we’re seeing as well, how should the believer, the true Christian, respond to these unfolding things we see around us today?
Carl Broggi: Well, that’s a great question. Let me just say first, I believe the instruction that we need has to begin in the pulpits of America. We need pastors who are not afraid to address Bible prophecy. We need pastors who are not afraid to be targeted. Oh, you’re against the Palestinian people and you’re in favor of the Jewish people. We need to speak the truth. And there are pastors today who sadly never address prophetic issues. And yet a third of the scripture is prophetic. And if you preach expositionally, you’re going to bump into passages all the time and we’re called to preach the whole council of God. Secondly, I would say that we should evangelize the Jewish people. You spoke about two thirds of the Jews perishing. That is certainly a percentage number. And so if the number of Jews who come to faith even before the 70th week of Daniel is greater, then that two thirds will be smaller.
Carl Broggi: Not to mention in Romans one 16, we’re instructed to bring the gospel to the Jew first and then to the Greek. Sometimes we immediately think, oh, Jewish people aren’t interested. Well, I’m glad Ellis Goldstein was interested in the gospel because he was leading a class that was instrumental in bringing me to faith in Christ as I was learning how to share the gospel as an unbeliever and I was converted. So we should seek to evangelize him. We should seek to protect the nation. God warns in Genesis 12, he’ll bless those who will bless Israel, but he’ll curse those who will curse Israel. I fear that if we have a similar administration back in office next November, next January, we’re going to be in big trouble. It will mean national suicide because the only reason I think God has chosen to preserve the nation is because we’ve stood behind Israel.
Carl Broggi: And so we should do everything in our power to make our voice heard. We should seek, I think, Sam, to protect Jewish individuals. People say, well, what kind of protection do they need in our country? Well, I think it’s going to change. I think it’s going to get worse. I mean, you had a Jewish rabbi at Columbia University telling his students, get off the campus, it’s not safe. And next December, Dr. Tommy I, he’s the president of the pre-Trib Research Center. He will have all the major Jewish groups represented at his conference, completed Jews, messianic Jews. And one of the things that they’re going to be asking of the Gentile church is, will you be willing to take Jewish people into your home to protect them? If it comes to that, and they foresee this, and I don’t think they’re off the mark. In addition, we need to evangelize lost Gentiles.
Carl Broggi: We’re not saying, well, God loves Israel, but he hates Iran. Actually, there’s a movement that’s going on in Iran apart from the evil regime that runs the country that is incredible, where Iranians are coming to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord. And with it is coming great persecution, we need to be praying for the peace of Jerusalem. That’s not an option. That’s something that we’re commanded to do. And it’s sad when after October 7th, pulpits across America, didn’t even pray for Israel the next day when they’d seen the worst event since their holocaust, nowhere to pray for the peace of Israel. That’s not an option, that’s a command. And of course, in addition, we’re reminded that God has a means. God says, well, you pray for healing, but sometimes he’ll use medical means to pull it off. And God wants to protect the nation of Israel. The scripture reminds us that he neither sleeps nor slumbers when it comes to guarding the nation, but he has a means in which to do it. And we can be a part of that means in the whole process. So those are just some general thoughts that I think we need to consider as believers.
Sam Rohrer: They’re fantastic. Carl, ladies and John, I wanted to give them very quickly, first, pastors need to preach the Bible, all of it, the whole council of God prophecy. Now is the time to be doing. And number two, evangelize the Jewish people to the Jew first and then to the Greek Gentile. Third, seek to protect Israel and the Jewish people. Open your mouth. Stand up, defend because we’re a part of that anointed group, right? Number four, seek to protect Jewish individuals. Consider that might come to that. Are you willing? Number five, evangelize lost Gentiles. Absolutely. Be busy about the sharing of the gospel in these days. And lastly, pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Psalm 1 22 6 says that we are to do that. It’s a command, not something nice, it’s a command. So those are just six basic ones. Hopefully you can back listen to the program again and Lord willing, pass it along to a friend. Let someone else know these things in this consideration of these important issues. Carl Broggi, thank you so much for being with us today, ladies and gentlemen. His website, you can find that search the scriptures.org, a lot of material, a lot of q and a, excellent stuff. Our own website as well. Stand in the gap radio.com.
