Sam Rohrer: Well hello and welcome to this Wednesday edition of Stand In the Gap Today. And it’s also our bimonthly emphasis on, well, what more appropriate could it be than Israel, the Middle East and biblical prophecy? And in light of all that’s happening in Israel right now, and hopefully you are aware of what’s taking place, what more appropriate day and focus than today to consider more fully, not just this current war that is clearly growing by the day, but actually what lies underneath of it. And I’m so glad that recurring guest, Dr. Carl Broggi, senior pastor of Community Bible Church in Beaufort, South Carolina, host of his own radio program entitled Search of the Scriptures that Carl’s able to join me today, that website for him. I’ll just give it right now, search the scriptures.org. But in this first segment, we’re going to give an update brief, though it will be on what we know that’s actually happening in Israel right now.
Sam Rohrer: And by best estimates what may happen imminently. We’re going to shift then to the underlying question that is critical, I think to ask and to answer in regard to this bigger picture. And that’s in regard to the hatred, the utter hatred for Israel and the Jews. Why does it seem to never go away? And why does the hatred for Israel appear throughout history predictably and for thousands of years? And why scripture foretell not only a continued but a building hatred against Israel? Well, in light of that question, I’ve decided to entitle today’s conversation, this Israel hated the enemy, the motivation and the history. And throughout today’s program, Dr. Carl Broggi and I will attempt to answer these questions in order to help focus our thinking and our planning in the days ahead to establish our priorities for those of us who know the Lord in particular in these days increasingly close to the return of Christ. And with that, I welcome to the program today, Dr. Carl Broggi. Thank you so much for being back with me.
Carl Broggi: It’s great to be here, Sam. We’re living in amazing days. We’re witnessing right before our eyes, God’s setting up the prophetic schedule for the future of his son’s return.
Sam Rohrer: And I think he certainly is. We’ve talked about it a lot. Carl, you preach regularly on it. I have many guests on because we cannot be a true born again believer in Jesus Christ without having these conversations and noting. So let’s just look a little bit and talk back and forth on what we know about what is actually happening now. Lemme just give a couple of facts, ladies and gentlemen, around 200 missiles went into Israel last night from Iran. It makes it the second effort, but these were much bigger missiles. These were faster missiles. Many of these actually made it through the defenses. But miraculously, it appears at this point that no Israelis, as is of this morning, are reported to have been killed by it. It’s kind of a remarkable thing. But Carl, I find that into this, Russia has ordered Israel to withdraw from Lebanon or by, I’m going to say insinuation, perhaps a Russian engagement. Turkey’s Erdogan made an official appeal to the United Nations yesterday to become engaged, which they have never their effort to stop Israel. But it seems like the alliances are crystallizing even further as we speak. So first start here, any comment from a Prophetical perspective on this developing conflict war and the alignment of nations in particular and how that should impact our thinking today?
Carl Broggi: Well absolutely. I think Sam, as we’ve discussed, there’s often two extremes in Bible prophecy. Some people run way ahead of God, they set dates, they make all kinds of dumb predictions that aren’t in the Bible. But on the other hand, and it tends to be the pattern in evangelicalism today, is there’s blinders over people’s eyes. They can’t see what’s happening and they don’t understand that we’re approaching the final chapter in human history. And so there’s three great wars that are still in the future. There’s the battle of Gog and Magog, the Battle of Armageddon, and then at the end of the millennium when Satan is loose from the abyss, one final battle. But the next one that’s on tap is Gog and Magog. And there’s a number of key nations that are engaged. Russia, Iran, and Turkey are the principle nations that are mentioned. And that’s fascinating because when Ezekiel wrote his prophecy, Russia was just a small tribal people.
Carl Broggi: When the Zionist movement began in the 1890s, Russia was a Christian nation and the nation of Israel didn’t even exist. And up until 1979, the Iranians were Israel’s allies. And when pastors would go to Israel and speak about the fact that someday Iran, which is biblically called Persia, and that was their name until 39, 1939 that they would come against, they were laughed at and then it happened. And so even 25 years ago, Russia, Turkey, Iran, they weren’t friends. But now you can see pictures all over the internet of President Rouhani of Iran and Erdogan of Turkey and Putin of Russia. They’re linking arms, they’re together. And I think the evil one has brought them together because they are the three specific highlighted leading nations that are going to go against Israel sometime in the future. We don’t know exactly when, but I suspect will happen after the rapture, but it could happen before the rapture.
Carl Broggi: But like with most prophecy, the stage has to be set. So God tells us the need for blood sacrifice in Genesis and that the Messiah will ultimately do that. And so Abels is accepted, Keynes is rejected. Well, how’s the blood sacrifice going to come from the Messiah? Is he going to be stoned to death and shed his blood that way? No, God unfolds prophecy further. It’s going to happen by crucifixion. And so a thousand years before Christ King David is a prophet, tells us that 700 years before Isaiah does 500 years before Zechariah. And so God often takes time to set the stage. And so we have these enemies of Israel who hate Israel, who want to see them wiped off the map intersecting.
Sam Rohrer: And
Sam Rohrer: Okay, Carl, we lost you for a moment there. Go ahead and finish please. Alright ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to step in and we’re close to the end. We’re going to go into more detail here about the enemies, the history, all of that in the next segments. But I’ll just mention this at this point, what may happen next? I think imminently, Israel’s promise to attack Iran stronger and heavier than what Iran attacked them is on the table. Will the United States actually engage? Well, they say they are. I don’t know. But one of the concerns of Israel is that last night, the barrage, the missile barrage, many of them made it through in part because they were flying at much faster speeds. There is a fear because it has been said that China has given technology, missile technology to Iran. Iran says they have their new missile, fat mach 10 to 15 that’s flying at 10 to 15 times the speed of sound.
Sam Rohrer: If that is there, it would go through the Iron dome and they would not take it down. There are a lot of things technically, physically on the table, but as I think we witnessed last night, even though I ran through a great many things, it did not cause great harm. No matter how one looks at it, it’s a miracle God is watching out for Israel. Next we’ll start talking about the enemies who have been trying to destroy Israel and why. Well, if you’re just joining us today, thank you so much for being a part of this Wednesday Stand in the Gap today program. Our theme today, and you could guess it’s quite timely, Israel hated the enemy. We’re going to talk more about that now, the motivation and that and the history because there’s been a long history of hatred and enemies toward Israel. But we’re try to answer all of these things.
Sam Rohrer: My special guest today, I’m really glad that he could be with me again on this focus. Dr. Carl Broggi, senior pastor of Community Bible Church in Beaufort, South Carolina. Now if you’ve been listening to us, he dropped off in the last segment. We connect by special satellite line here, but they are still having trouble in South Carolina, all of those areas that were hit by the hurricane. And so if he drops out again in this next segment, then we will have to reconnect. But that’s what’s happening. So if you are praying along, just pray that it doesn’t happen. Alright? So we’ll do that, but I just wanted you to know that up front. Okay, Carl, let’s go into it. You mentioned enemies in the last segment. We’re talking about it now, but from the perspective of many people including Israeli leaders today, they will say, and people listening understand it, they recognize and they say that Iran is the head of the snake. So the Hamas and the Hezbollah and Houthis and so forth are enemies to be sure, but they say the head of the snake is Israel. I ran rather the enemy and I ran the leader of all of that. But physical enemies of Israel are greater than Iran even today and certainly in the past. Can you identify staying right in the current right now, identify the enemies identified in scripture that would be identifiable today?
Carl Broggi: Well, there’s an invisible battle that’s been going on since the start of time. And the snake himself, of course is Satan. And the Bible warns us that we’re not to allow him to take advantage of us and so we’re not to be ignorant of his schemes. And sadly, most people today are ignorant of his schemes. And so here you have this evil one who’s motivating certain nations of the world is the God of this world. He’s energizing the sons of disobedience who somehow thinks that he can override God’s plan and stop his plan. Why would he do that? Why would he be seemingly so stupid? Well, it’s not that he’s stupid per se, it’s that his wisdom has been darkened. When God describes his fall in Ezekiel 28, he says, you corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor when your heart was lifted up.
Carl Broggi: And so the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. And we see this in human persons, Roman one, when they reject God, their minds are darkened. They’re given over ultimately to a depraved mind. And even Satan, he’s an angelic person, has all the characteristics of personhood, mind will and emotion. And so his thinking is darkened. And so we’re in this spiritual battle and all the way through history, job one, he comes into the presence of the Lord. Elisha gives his servant a picture of this war that’s going on in heaven and how the chariots of God are behind them. Daniel 10 pictures, these angels fighting one another representing different nations like the kingdom of Persians so forth. Matthew 16, Jesus rebukes Peter because he recognizes that there’s an evil one, namely Satan who’s a stumbling block to him. In Ephesians six, of course most of us know that our war is not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities.
Carl Broggi: So Satan has always had basically two strategies and we’re not to be ignorant of his schemes. Strategy number one was to stop the coming of Messiah. And strategy number two that I suppose we’ll talk in the next segment would be to stop the coming kingdom. So you see Satan’s attempts to stop the Messiah as early as Cain. Cain offers something that God is not pleased with because he doesn’t come on the basis of revelation, a blood sacrifice. And so he gets angry and he wants to kill Abel because it’s ultimately through Abel. As the line starts, Messiah will come, but God of course gives a substitute, Seth. But we know Cain was motivated by evil because one John three 12 says he was of the evil one. In Genesis six, you have the sons of God, angelic beings who cohabitate with the daughters of men.
Carl Broggi: Again, Satan is trying to stop the Messiah from coming by corrupting humanity. In Exodus one, you have the Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, killing all the baby boys. Why? Because he wants to stop the coming of the Messiah. You have in two Chronicles 22 Athaliah who wants to wipe out every son in the tribe of Judah, family of David. Why? Because that’s where the Messiah is going to come from. And of course the little boy is hidden Joash so that he can ultimately take the throne. Haman, he wants to wipe out the Jews at Esther’s day. And then you have in Matthew chapter two, king Herod wanting to kill all the baby boys. Now we could say, well, that’s purely human and that’s just people working independently of the evil one. But that goes against the tenor of scripture and it goes against the clear revelation and commentary God gives in Revelation 12 because Matthew two gives us a picture of the Messiah being ultimately murdered from a human perspective. But from Revelation 12, in the first five verses, we have it from an angelic perspective. And we’re told in that portion of scripture that Satan was behind the whole thing as he was behind all these events.
Sam Rohrer: And
Carl Broggi: So he was unsuccessful in round one.
Sam Rohrer: Okay, and want to go ladies and gentlemen into some more round? We’ll build those out a little bit, Carl. So that’s a great overview. Come back into looking at the current, in the last segment you talked about, we mentioned some nations, Russia, Persia, Iran, Turkey in particular, but there are some other nations included in that Libya and so forth that are mentioned in scripture that are in the days coming ahead, they are enemies of Israel. As we look at what’s happening today, it does seem like there is a Russian, Turkey, Muslim alliance, but sticking in there, you’ve got China, but you’ve got the west, even within them, the United Nations, it’s not made up of just those nations we mentioned, but the United Nations are also aligned against Israel, physical enemies, it would appear. So you said to her mentalities, you got the Islamic mentality. What do you think Russia’s mentality is for hatred to Israel? What do you think about the United Nations mentality, their motivations? What are their specific motivations as you can identify them? Him?
Carl Broggi: Well, again, the God of this world is energizing the sons of disobedience. And so Satan hates the Jewish people and if the kingdom, the coming future kingdom is going to come through Israel, then he wants to destroy Israel. And so how does he accomplish that? Well, he works through the nations of the world. And so while there are five specific nations that are given by name, it’s also said and the nations in addition. So it’s not limited to those five. And so certainly the United Nations is opposing Israel. They’ve written more decrees against Israel, then all of the decrees combined in their entire history. They hate Israel. Why? Because Satan hates Israel and he’s energizing the sons of disobedience because he wants to destroy Israel. So I think that’s a lot of the motivation behind it. And again, it’s beyond belief from a human perspective where you have these leading nations who once hated each other. And again, when you read Ezekiel 38, Russia, not even, well, Russia is a small tribal nation. Israel doesn’t exist by, and so they’re not instituted. And so he’s looking at this future time when Russia is a Christian nation. Israel doesn’t exist, but he details the whole thing and it’s all coming together. So this is the nature prophecy. God alone knows the future and he tells us in advance.
Sam Rohrer: And that’s the great thing about it, Carl. And that’s why it’s always so wonderful and we try to do as you do regularly in your teaching of your church and all at your congregation, is to inform of what the Bible says about these events. Because it’s not God’s desire that we operate in ignorance, but rather to the contrary. Let me ask you this. Throughout the New Testament, there’s a reference to the spirit of antichrist and that we know the antichrist will come, but the spirit of antichrist was already here. It was actually there in the time of Christ. Expand upon a minute is the spirit of antichrist. How does that relate to the hatred of Israel?
Carl Broggi: Well, that term antichrist of course, is used uniquely by John and only in First John. And so the antichrist of course is that coming world ruler. But the spirit of antichrist is already at work. And so John says, children, it’s the last hour. So technically we’ve been in the last hour because the rapture is imminent. It could happen at any moment. And just as you’ve heard that antichrist, that one world leader is coming, even now many antichrist have appeared from this. We know it’s the last hour. These false teachers, they went out from us, they appeared to be Christians, but they were not really of us. And so it demonstrated that they were of the antichrist. And so then he’ll go on and he’ll speak of the spirit of antichrist. So Satan is at work. The spirit of antichrist is someday going to encapsulate itself in a human person. But right now through the prince of the power of the air, he is working. He’s energizing, he’s swaying the hearts of people and they give Satan that permission to do that when they repress what they know to be true about God and then they end up believing the lie.
Sam Rohrer: Excellent. Thank you so much Carl. Ladies and gentlemen, stay with us. Hopefully this is helpful for you when you come back. Carl referred to basically round one, round two attempts in the past of Satan to dethrone God’s plan. We’re going to go back and just look at a couple of more of those in greater specifics in the next segment. Well ladies and gentlemen, thanks for being with us here today on the program. We’re looking at Israel, they’re in the headlines as we know the world is watching and waiting for the next chew to drop, or should I say missile to fly because of what is happening now. One thing is clear, we shared at the beginning of the program and others whose are noting that in Israel even last night, the second wave of Iranian missiles much larger, much faster arriving in the country from launch to Israel, within 12 to 15 minutes, they’re flying that fast.
Sam Rohrer: It’s unlike the one weeks ago that were effectively all of them were shot down. Those were drones, there were slow flying, they had a lot of time to get ready for them. But in Israel today, these fast flying missiles, there’s only about 12 minutes to respond. It’s very, very quick. They have to move very quickly. But even in the midst of that, even though many of them got through because of their speed at this juncture anyways, it appears that no Israeli lost their life. And even though a couple of the missiles that had reported landed from significant Israeli military bases, it is at least being reported that there were no damage to planes or anything significant. There’s no way to look at this other than the fact of God is protecting and moving Israel along the road. What I say along his plan, and Carl, let’s go back and talk about that because the enemies that are surrounding Israel and the enemies who come against Israel are a part of God’s plan.
Sam Rohrer: And ultimately it’s to bring Israel back to recognize the Messiah as we know. But that’s where we go and we’ll talk about that in the next segment a little bit more. But for right now, we used the term round one, round two. You gave a list of a number of things that have occurred throughout history where the devil, the master enemy, has attempted to stop the unfolding plan of God’s redemption. If you were to lake and look at say one or two or three that were the most significant, what would they be? And then let’s build them out just a little bit more just to give people who are listening and understanding of how incredible it was the enemy, what they did, but how incredible God is in his promise keeping
Carl Broggi: Well, he is, he’s faithful. Jeremiah the prophet, excuse me, when he mentions the new covenant, he reminds us that as long as the sun and the moon and the stars are in the sky, that’s how faithful and how long God will be committed to Israel. So he is going to fulfill human history through this nation. And Satan knows that Satan has been the God of this world. When Adam rebelled against God, he gave up his right to rule. And so with a small G, he’s called second Corinthians four, four, the God of this world, the prince of the power of the heir. When he offered Jesus the kingdoms of the world, if he would bow down and worship him again, trying to detract him from God’s plan to go to the cross to provide redemption, it was a legitimate offer because he has that right in that rule.
Carl Broggi: And so in the coming future, when the seventh trumpet of the revelation is sounded, it says, the kingdoms of this world will now become the kingdom of his God in and of his Christ. And there’s that announcement in heaven, and that’s when Satan kicks into high gear against Israel. But again, the stage is being set for it because what happens in the middle of the tribulation period is all the nations of the world forcibly go against the people of Israel. And so the prophet Zechariah and the 12th chapter says, it will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will be severely injured and all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. And so in every generation, Sam, there’s some irrational hatred as to why folks can’t stand Israel. Even today across the college campuses and America, the people’s children and grandchildren who are listening, their kids are being indoctrinated with the BDS movement, boycott, divest, sanction.
Carl Broggi: And you would think so close from the emerging holocaust that it doesn’t make sense that we would treat this nation in that way. But Satan knowing as we documented in the last segment that he lost round one, that Messiah has come, Messiah has died, Messiah has risen, and the proclamation of victory of the cross has been proclaimed even in the lowest caverns of hell. As Peter underscores, he knows that. Well, I have one other alternative. The other alternative concerns the coming kingdom where the people of Israel will be the place from which Messiah will rule and reign in the city of Jerusalem. And he thinks, well, if I can destroy Israel, if I can wipe her off the map, then this kingdom that I’ve had for six millennia could go on, potentially add infinitum. And so that’s why he’s against Israel again. He’s darkened in his wisdom.
Carl Broggi: He thinks he can somehow pull this off against God. But he’s setting the stage for this through this coming one world economy through this coming one world religion. We spoke about the spirit of antichrist in the last segment in John says that every spirit that does not confess Jesus is from God. This is the spirit of antichrist. And of course, last month, Pope Francis in Singapore said, and I quote, all religions are passed to reach God. They are to make a comparison like different languages, different dialects to get there. But God is God for everyone. If you start to fight saying, my religion is more important than yours, mine is true, and your isn’t, yours isn’t. Where will that lead us? There’s only one God. And each of us has a language to arrive at God. Some are Sikh, some are Muslim, some are Hindus, some are Christians.
Carl Broggi: They’re all different ways to God. That’s the spirit of antichrist working through the world, religious leader. And so you see this economy that is being set. You see this world religion and the final phase will be a world government. And so to make that successful, Satan has to eradicate Israel and that is his plan and that’s what he is attempting to do even now through a run. But this is just the start. And even what we saw on October the seventh, it appears that there was an acceleration of evil like we’ve never seen. There’s still protesting even on campuses in South Carolina, across the nation against Israel. They tend to keep it in the background right now. But you can see YouTube videos of last week campuses protesting against Israel. This is the generation that is being made ready for the coming antichrist, and we need to have our eyes open.
Sam Rohrer: Yeah, we do. And let me just go and ask you this. Not a whole lot of time, but see what you can do with this. When one looks at the hatred for Israel, Satan was where it started. Lucifer rebelled against the God of heaven. He desired the worship. It’s not what they hate Israel and God’s plan, the Israel to stop what God is doing. It all comes down, does it not to God’s love for the soul of each man and the importance of worship because worship is to go to God only, but the devil wants that worship. What is it about the souls of men? Each individual man create an image of God, Carl, that is so valuable that this entity, Satan, Lucifer, would do all of this to counter and explain. Just talk about that a little bit.
Carl Broggi: Well, when God created us, the scripture says He create in his image, and there’s about six or seven aspects of being created in the image of God. And one is is that God created us to live forever. God alone has internality, but God has created us as finite beings to live forever in Satan, who indeed, as you mentioned, wants worship the fall of Satan. That’s described in Isaiah 14, in Ezekiel 28, in those five. Great, I will statements, I will, I will, I will, I will, I will. He wants men to worship him. And of course that’s where this is all heading with the one world leader. He’s called antichrist. He’s given some 30 titles as he’ll demand singular worship. He will as close as we could say, be Satan incarnate in this coming unholy trinity. And so God values the souls of men. God wishes that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Carl Broggi: Christ didn’t die for a select few. He died for everyone. He provided a way of escape so that anyone who will call upon him can be forgiven, changed. The blinders can be lifted off their eyes so they can see the meaning of life and what it is that God created them for. They’re going to live forever, all of us either in heaven or in hell. There’s no in between. There’s no purgatory absent from the body, present with the Lord, absent from the body present in Haiti, which ultimately becomes the lake of fire. And so God is a compassionate God, but he is also just, and he will not wink at sin. It must be punished. It will either be punished in us as finite beings that will take us in eternity, pay for it, or we can receive the one who bore the punishment for us.
Sam Rohrer: And Carl, what a great layout there that takes us. Ladies and gentlemen, I hope you value and consider that if you’re listening and you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal savior, well that’s the place to start. Put your faith in Jesus Christ. That is the culmination of God’s plan of redemption when sin came into the world and what we see unfolding around us now in the tribulation period. That time coming up in the millennial kingdom is what scripture speaks about. The devil’s still fighting against it. God is still extending his hand of mercy and grace for those who have not yet trusted. For those of us ladies and gentlemen who do know well, the devil’s tried how many times to disrupt God’s plan, he’s failed. He will always fail, God’s plan will succeed, and his promises are always good. So let us have confidence in that.
Sam Rohrer: When we come back, we’re going to conclude with looking a little bit ahead of well this next effort of the devil to try and stop God’s plan. Alright, Carl, let’s conclude here. We’ve started with Israel, we’re going to conclude with Israel. And God’s plan identified that it is all about God’s plan. The devil from the beginning has been an enemy of God. We’ve talked about that. You’ve listed a number of ways and times throughout history where the devil has attempted to subvert God’s plan to prevent the coming of Messiah at the first coming. And we’ve left out a lot of things. I mean we talk a lot more, but again and again and again and again, it has happened. He hadn’t stopped him, hadn’t stopped the plan. And so God is still extending salvation and the hope of eternal life to all who will come.
Sam Rohrer: As you said, it’s for all not God’s will that Annie should perish, but it is about the nation of Israel. It’s always been about the nation of Israel. And regardless of what some people have said that Israel is no longer in the picture, we’ve talked much about that with replacement theology aspect. The whole world is now focusing again on Israel. Isn’t it amazing? But the scripture that does talk about another attempt, and you’ve referred to it, I’ve referred to it, Psalm chapter two, I just want you to kind of look at that chapter and go from there because it talks about a time when the kings of the earth, effectively the leaders of the earth, the political leaders, economic leaders, they gather together, which seems to me to say a conspiracy, but against the Lord and his anointed and then God’s reaction. And then how that whole thing wraps up. It seems to me that it could be talking about the days ahead, but explain that a little bit and use that to kind of summarize our discussion today. Could you?
Carl Broggi: Yeah, I think it has a principle application for the future, not that it couldn’t apply today. And so in the opening verses, he describes the nations of the world. Why are the nations in an uproar? And the people’s devising a vain thing, the kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against his Messiah, his anointed his mess saying, let us tear their S apart and cast them from us. That’s never happened in the truest sense where all the nations of the world have gathered together against God’s messiah. But it is going to happen in a sense. The prophet Zacharia says in the 14th chapter, for I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle. Jerusalem of course is going to be the capital of the world when Messiah comes back and the cities will be captured and God will come forth and he’ll fight against those nations.
Carl Broggi: And on that day, his feet, Messiah’s feet will stand on the mound of olives which is in front of Jerusalem on the east and he’ll split it in two. That’s never happened. When is it going to happen? It’s going to happen in the future. And when you fast forward to the last book of the Bible to the revelation, God speaks of these demonic spirits who are going to perform signs which go out to the kings of the whole world to gather them together. War of the great day of God, the Almighty. And of course he goes on to describe that this is what we call haage in or we Christianize it and we say Armageddon. And he further delineates in the 19th chapter of this coming great battle where they’ll come against God’s messiah and the nations of the world will, but God will intervene with his son.
Carl Broggi: So the psalm opens with this rebellious spirit and then God gives his response in verses four through six. He who sits in the heavens laughs the Lord scoffs at them. Then he will speak to them in his anger and terrify them in his fur saying, but as for me, I have installed my king upon Zion, my holy mountain. That’s Jerusalem, that’s the Temple Mount we would say. And so God speaks of this coming time when that will literally be fulfilled and at the second coming, God will speak to them in his fury. There’s going to be the greatest bloodbath in human history as all the nations go against Jerusalem. There’ll be so much blood soaked in the grass that as the horses run through it, it will be up to their bridals like mud splashed up to the bridal of a horse. So it’ll be the blood from the ground and God will speak them dead.
Carl Broggi: And those who survive, they will then be judged before the Lord. He speaks in the 19th chapter of this event, he speaks of the marriage supper of the lamb that believers will participate in. And then he speaks of the great supper of God where God will allow the birds of the world to literally eat the flesh of kings and soldiers and those who rebelled against the Lord. So the nations rebel. God gives his sovereign response in verses four through six. And then you find the decree of the son in verses seven through nine, I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord, he said to me, you are my son. This is Jesus speaking. You are my son today I have begotten you. That’s the Father speaking ask of me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance. At the very ends of the earth is your possession.
Carl Broggi: You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall shatter them with earth and wear. That’s never happened. That’s prophesied. A baby will be born, his name will be called mighty God. And so God took on our humanity first coming and the governments will rest on his shoulders. That’s a second coming prophecy. That’s what God is speaking of in Psalm two. And so you have the voice of the Father, you have the voice of the Son, and really you have the voice of the spirit by way of application. Now, therefore, oh kings show discernment. Take warning, no judges of the earth. Why? Because God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He wants men to repent and be forgiven, be they kings or paupers, worship the Lord with reverence and rejoice with trembling. Do homage to the Son. My what a contradiction.
Carl Broggi: That phrase is to what the Pope just said, you can come any way you want. No, Jesus said, no one comes to the Father, but through me. And the so-called first Pope and Catholicism said, there is salvation to no one else. There’s no other name under heaven, given them in by which we must be saved. Do homage to the Son that he not become angry and you perish in the way for his wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are those who take refuge in him? And so literally kiss the son and he’s saying, give yourself to the Lord Jesus. Give yourself to God’s messiah. And there’s blessing for those who trust in him in that fashion because there’s forgiveness of sin, because he bore that wrath as our substitute. And so the nations are plotting, they’re scheming, they’re going against God. The greatest expression will be when all the nations gather and they fight God himself. They’ll come against Israel in Jerusalem and the son will come back and he will deal with them in a moment’s time. And this is why we need to be ready and this is why we need to be sharing our faith.
Sam Rohrer: Absolutely. And Carl, as we look at what’s going on right now, I mean, would it be inaccurate to say that as you said, that specific prophecy is not yet here, that’ll be at the end of the tribulation period, but certainly as you said, the stage is being set, a dress rehearsal, a stage setting, birth pangs, I mean all of these nations that are aligning all of this building, hatred is all a part of that. Would it be not safe to say?
Carl Broggi: Absolutely. Because again, God says in the latter times, not just the last days, but latter times a designation given in the New Testament for the end of the age, though the term, the last days in the Old Testament refers to the second coming of Messiah. Israel has to be in the land. Israel has to be hated as a nation. We witnessed this right before our eyes, like never before. They’re reconstituted in the land as God prophesied. He’s gathered them from over 100 nations. Now more Jews live in Israel than all the nations of the world combined. The stage is being set for one world government for this intense hatred and the destruction of Israel. People have to be half blind. When you add to that the moral climate that the coming of God’s son will be like. Noah’s day, days of moral impropriety and like watch day, days of moral perversion. We’re on the cusp of this. The rapture could happen at any moment. We need to be ready and we need to be sharing God’s forgiveness.
Sam Rohrer: Amen and amen. Ladies and gentlemen, I hope that you are ready. If not, get ready. Don’t be dismayed, don’t be perplexed, but be trusting in the Lord though one who promised will bring all these things to completion. Greater confidence, greater obedience. May we walk in greater holiness. All of us who know the Lord today.
